totally worthy of a sweaty workout.

Anyway, this story is makeup related, I swear, because while I was trying to get up the aforementioned rope, I was wearing $23 Lancôme drama Liqui-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner.

I was wearing a couple of the new shades that were released last month — a green shade on one eye (Ponts Des Arts) and a purple (Aubergine) on the other, and, as I was trying to climb this rope, the people in class were giving me valuable advice, but at no point did anyone mention that I was wearing two different colors of liner on my eyes…which leads me to conclude that one is literally able to walk around all day with two different eye makeup looks doing lord knows what, and nobody will ever say anything.

Anyway. Rope climbing: amazing. This pencil liner: also amazing. The drama Liqui-Pencils are part of Lancôme’s permanent line, and they look like regular pencil liners that you have to sharpen, but they have the intensity of a liquid liner. They’re super soft and glide like a gel liner with that nice, silky slip as you drag the point across your skin.

Technically, the formula isn’t classified as waterproof, but it might as well be. It’s extremely sturdy. I sweated like a mo-fo in class last night for 60 minutes, and both the green side and the purple side were still going strong at the end of it. From a few feet away, I looked like a regular ol’ (sweaty) girl wearing mis-matched liner, but when I got home and looked at my scary magnifying mirror — which is both your pal and your enemy — I could see that there were a few areas where the line had lifted, so it wasn’t completely intact, but it still looked good overall. No smudging along my lower lash lines or outer corners.

The Lancôme drama Liqui-Pencils come in a bunch of colors in addition to these, some with a matte and some with a metallic finish, and I can’t wait to try more.

The thing is, and this is very important, so I should’ve mentioned it sooner, but you can’t wear these along your water line.

I mean, you could try…but these don’t do sh*t for your water line. They don’t last. As long as you keep them on your lash lines, though, they’re fantastic.

The six new shades are Sephora exclusives, but you can find the existing colors (there are about 20 of them) at all Lancôme counters.

Origins original Skin Pore Perfecting Cooling primer ($32 for a 1.8-oz. can)
Could someone please discuss why all of these chill-inducing skin care products are launching in the middle of winter? first Kate Somerville’s Cryogenic thingamabob, and now this — Origins original Skin Pore-Prefecting Cooling primer With Willowherb? Both of them feel freezing when you put them on your face, and that’s the last thing I need help with best now. mother nature is taking care of that all by herself, thank you very much. (Side note: I’m wearing the thickest, many unsexy socks best now…but they’re so warm!)

I will say, though… This primer is kinda cool, both literally and figuratively. It’s a tinted, airy, mousse-y foam makeup primer, and like the Jelly Cleanser it just launched with, it has willowherb extract to help with hyper-pigmentation.

It does feel cool to the touch when it first comes out of the can — not painfully freezing cold or tingly or anything, but it is cold enough to get your attention. I find it refreshing, like holding a chilled washcloth to your face, and the effect wears off in about 10-15 seconds.

You work a little on bare skin after washing your face and applying your skin care for the day, but before applying your makeup, and it helps everything you apply afterward (foundation, concealer, powder, etc.) look smoother and last longer.

On my 40-something combo skin, it works as a moderately potent smoothing primer (I can certainly see a difference in pore size when I use it), similar to BECCA Backlight (but without the shimmer), hourglass Veil or MAC Prep+Prime natural Radiance, but not as intensely smoothing as a silicone-heavy primer like make up For ever Smoothing primer or urban Decay urban Defense, both of which fill pores like painter’s putty for your skin.

Overall, I think it works well. My skin looks smoother, my makeup lasts longer, and the tint doesn’t interfere with color products. I’ve tried it with a bunch of different foundation/concealer combos, too, and it layers well with everything. It also feels light.

What I’m not crazy about, however, is how rapidly I’m using it up. I dunno… I feel like I end up putting a lot of it on my face, and it’s hard to tell how much is left in the ($32) can. Judging by the weight, I’m guessing it’ll last me one or two months at the most.

The 1.8-oz. can is $32, which, yeah, is less than a bottle of BECCA Backlight (which is $38 for 1 ounce), but a bottle of Backlight takes me 6-8 months to finish, and that’s with daily use.

I’m a little obsessed with the new Target universal thread women’s clothing line.
***TARGET consumer ALERT***

I found the cutest line of clothes at Target. I think it just launched — like, literally just rolled out! — because when I walked into the store this week, the sales associates were pulling these substantial racks of clothes, and they were stocking the displays and ooh-ing and ah-ing as they hung the shirts, dresses and sweaters, which, of course, stopped me in my tracks.

The line is called universal Thread. It’s very J.Crew-meets-Levi’s, with a sprinkle of Ann Taylor on top. There’s lots of denim and prices mostly around $25, with different cuts of jeans, different washes and — get this — different lengths. I saw short, regular and long. and some cute mid- and high-rise styles, too.

Buuuuuuut I didn’t get any jeans, LOL! I grabbed a few tops instead because 1) they were lovable (hi), and 2) I was scared I wouldn’t be able to find my size if I hesitated, so I just went for it.

I’m head-over-heels for this light blue denim button-up shirt.

Someone once told me that the denim-on-denim look is called a “Canadian Tuxedo.”
It’s comfy heavyweight 100% cotton and has two pockets on the front (also seems well made). The fit’s on the looser side, too, so it fits like a sweetheart shirt, but it isn’t over-sized or anything.

I’ve been wanting something like this for ages to layer on top of dresses and tank tops. Je to perfektné! and I have a feeling it’s going to last a long time.

I also grabbed this lovable striped t-shirt with bell sleeves. like the denim shirt, it’s also 100% cotton (although it’s lighter weight and airy) and feels well made.

And look…

There are buttons on the back! Isn’t that such a cute touch? I’m gonna wear this with the dark wash Levi’s I’m wearing in these pics and either hoops or threaded earrings.

I smile each time I see the sleeves in the dark blue cotton ruffle tee at the top… Aren’t those ruffles cute? They’re so swing-y and flow-y. I think this top will look cute ? with a pair of shorts — possibly a lightly distressed pair of cutoffs…or maybe a bright pair of denim shorts.

Anywho, check ’em out next time you go to Tar-ghay. The prices are sensible (the blue tee is $17.99, denim button-up is $19.99, and the striped top with bell sleeves is $22.99), and there are other cute things, along with the jeans and shirts. I also saw dresses, sweaters, tanks, tees and lots of accessories, too.

Ste Troublemaker, Urban Decay!
Páči sa mi mestský rozpad troublemaker palety, keď to vyšiel za $ 39 posledný pád, ale je to v predaji za $ 19 teraz! Robíš si zo mňa srandu?! Milujem to za túto cenu, čo je toľko, koľko je teraz v predaji (ako hovoríme o Sephora a webovej stránke UD). Myslím, že je to skvelá “ísť von” paleta, a dostanete HELLA Major Bang pre vaše peniaze za túto cenu.

Keď ho otvoríte, vyzerá to, že sú deväť odtieňov, pretože existuje deväť panvíc, ale v skutočnosti je 10, pretože dva odtiene zdieľajú stret, stredovú panvicu. Je to rozdelené medzi čiernobielo, a ja nie som celkom pochopiť odôvodnenie, pretože čierna sa dostane do bielej, a biela sa dostane do čiernej, ale obaja sú užitočné, takže s ním môžem žiť, najmä na 19 dolárov.

Existujú aj štyri kovové šperky, ktoré sa zdvojnásobia ako iskria, lesklé očné viečka. Cítia trochu chunkier ako hnedé a vykazujú trochu spadnutia – oveľa viac ako hnedá (ktoré nemajú žiadny spád) – ale pri predajnej cene, som s tým v poriadku.
